Baucus' 'no' vote on public option draws otherwise friendly fire
Baucus asserted "there's a lot to like" about a public option a government-run insurance plan that would vie with personal insurers but in the final analysis Baucus stated that he failed to see how a medicare reform bill containing such a provision could pass the full Senate. Now I am able to count, and nobody has been in a position to show me how they can get to sixty votes with a public option in the bill.". He stated that it's possible that Baucus and other Left wingers may end up voting for a public option after a medicare bill forwarded by the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Work and Annuities which contains a public option is combined with the finance board bill.
